Codex reset forecasts and intervals
Reset NE brings together the Codex Reset Index, the next reset forecast and reset history. When waiting for ChatGPT Codex usage to refresh, distinguish a forecast from an announced reset.
View the current reset index ↗What is the Codex Reset Index?
The index estimates resets within the next 72 hours from confirmed reset records. Explicit Banked grants and scheduled account renewals are excluded. It is an experimental estimate, not a calibrated probability, official schedule or guarantee of account application. The current estimate uses confirmed reset intervals and time since the last reset. During the challenge, only the residual frequency difference from the adaptive baseline is adjusted, with shrinkage and a cap. The next-day improvement effect stays neutral; notices remain separate. Adjustment affects time through Nov 1 PT only. Baseline and adjusted forecasts are saved together; improved accuracy is not yet established.
Reading the estimated time and range
The 72-hour estimate starts at the displayed issue time. The estimated time is the conditional median; the central 50% range spans the 25th–75th percentiles. This is not a validated 50% coverage rate. Official notices are shown separately.
Automatic, weekly and banked resets
A scheduled reset follows the usage window shown in your account. An additional automatic reset follows a separate announcement. A banked reset is a separate offer saved for use under its conditions. Receiving one and redeeming one are different events.
Reset history and average intervals
History lists reset mentions and completion reports newest first. A report time may differ from account rollout. Weekly and monthly charts summarize observed intervals between automatic resets; missing periods are not recorded as zero.
Tibo’s 28-day challenge
The challenge promises an improvement or a reset each day, not a reset every day. The calendar distinguishes improvements, automatic resets and banked grants. An improvement and a reset can happen on the same day.
Checking ChatGPT and Codex usage
Codex allowances provided through a ChatGPT plan can vary by account, plan and access method. Do not assume that ordinary ChatGPT message limits or OpenAI API rate limits share the same reset. Check your account usage screen for remaining allowance and your scheduled reset.
Frequently asked questions
When will Codex reset?
Check your account for its scheduled reset. Additional automatic resets have no guaranteed fixed interval. Reset NE shows announcements separately from forecasts.
Does a high reset index mean a confirmed reset?
No. The index is experimental. Announcements have a separate status, and account rollout must be checked in your account.
Does a shorter average interval mean the next reset is sooner?
An average summarizes past records. Challenges and releases can change the pattern; the average does not confirm the next date.
Is Reset NE an official OpenAI service?
Reset NE is independent of OpenAI. It cannot change your allowance or trigger a reset.
